The Fourmation series explores symmetry and convergence in painting and is part of my exploration of the structural seduction of photography.

The source image of a cloud is copied and mirrored across the two central axes of the picture plane.

Following the same process is a set of topographical lines from mountain peaks printed in clear lacquer over the painting.

The critical choices visible in these paintings attempt to accentuate the tension of pictorial transparency and opacity within a mechanical, photographic image-making frame of reference.

The Fourmation series specifically informed the quadraesthesia series, as well as the Eye Wish series shown in the Convergation exhibition.
